Under new leadership, having been acquired in December 2018 by locomotive owner David Buck, The Steam Dreams Rail Co are delighted to be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year. Since its inception in 1999, Steam Dreams Rail Co has gone from strength to strength and now welcomes over 19,000 passengers on board each year on over 50 trips and stop at 100 stations across the UK.
With a passion for steam trains and as the owner of one of the UK’s most recognisable engines, David has bought a new energy to the business along with exciting plans for 2019 and beyond. Passengers can expect to see more regular itineraries, double headed trips and B1 Mayflower out on the tracks again! Having spent the best part of the 3 years having her fully restored, owner David Buck is delighted she will be heading up the majority of Steam Dreams trips along with old favourites such as the Black Fives and Jubilee Class engines – of course not forgetting Flying Scotsman!
With well thought-out itineraries to some of the UK’s finest Cathedral cities, stunning coastal resorts, beautiful gardens and nostalgic heritage lines, the passenger experience is always at the forefront of our minds. Each journey is meticulously planned, not only to take in beautiful countryside but also to present the most challenging routes for the many different locomotives. These elements, combined with the exceptional on-board menus and dining experiences ensure that our passengers can enjoy the very best of luxury steam travel and escape to a bygone era.
In addition to our extremely popular day trips Steam Dreams also offers a number of Holidays by steam around the British Isles including The Highlands and Islands Explorer with Flying Scotsman and the Emerald Isle Craic Express.
